To all CHHS undergraduate students:

   Dean Newhoff Portrait
I am excited to let you know that the College is now initiating the Undergraduate International Experience. This initiative is designed to strongly encourage all of our undergraduate students to gain some international exposure through one of many channels available here at SDSU.

Our purpose is to allow each student an opportunity to become aware of the global environment in health and human services and to appreciate the diversity of conditions facing people around the world. The Experience is simply an opportunity to expand your excellent CHHS education and add an international component.

This can be achieved by participating in one of the many programs available through the SDSU International Student Center, the SDSU College of Extended Studies (CES), the CA State University International Programs, or by taking advantage of one of the new programs that the College of Health and Human Services is developing. Some of the International Student Center programs are sponsored by SDSU which others provided by various external organizations. The CES programs are generally sponsored by SDSU. The CHHS programs, the first of which is located nearby in Mexico, are being developed within the CHHS itself.

We will be providing you with more information as opportunities develop. Meanwhile, please give some thought to your interests and preferences for international travel and learning.

Sincerely,
Dean's Signature
