The profession of Social Work is deeply committed both to the relief of human distress and inequality and to meeting the social, psychological, and economic needs of human beings. While this concern for others is a vital ingredient of Social Work, it must be implemented with the knowledge and skills of the profession.

The School of Social Work was founded in 1963 and has been continuously accredited by the Council of Social Work Education since 1966.
