MSW/MPH Program Applicants
Applicants for the MSW/MPH program should follow the guidelines below for applying to the standard MSW program.
The completed application will be reviewed by both the SDSU School of Social Work and the SDSU Graduate School of Public Health.
MSW Program Admissions
- MSW Admission Criteria
Requirements for Admissions to MSW Program:
- Meet requirements for admission to Graduate Study at SDSU.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree with a liberal arts foundation from an accredited college or university.
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 units (90 quarter), but not less than a minimum of a 2.85 GPA.
- Submit results of the GRE Examination and TOEFL Examination (if applicable). (MSW/JD applications may substitute the LSAT Exam Score).
- Complete SDSU School of Social Work Application form which includes: Supplemental information, Liberal Arts Perspective Form; Personal/Professional Statement; Letters of Recommendation; Education and Experience; Application Information Certification.
- Volunteer, internship, and/or paid human services experience (minimum of 500 hours).
- Complete an undergraduate statistics course.

- 1/15/08: 2-Year Plan, Advanced Standing Program, International, & Transfer Applicants (Priority Due Date)
- 4/1/08: 3-Year, 4-Year Plan, and Dual Degree Program Applicants
- 5/1/08: Imperial Valley Campus MSW starting summer 2008

Prospective MSW students should attend an information session. All sessions will be in SDSU's Hepner Hall 134 at 1:00 pm:
