The American Association of Colleges of Nursing(AACN) is awarding Dr. Griener the 2020 AACN Advocate of the Year Award. This award is granted annually to one distinguished member whose advocacy over the past year has promoted academic nursing’s priorities in the federal sphere. Dr. Griener is being recognized for his leadership in strengthening the federal investment in nursing education, research, and practice.
Here is an excerpt from the AACN letter congratulating Dr. Greiner:
“AACN applauds your steadfast advocacy for our nation’s nursing students and the profession by being a State Grassroots Liaison, a former member of AACN’s Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee, attending biannual Capitol Hill visits, and encouraging your students to participate in AACN’s Student Policy Summits. Further, your strong rapport with federal legislators and passion for nursing advocacy, especially as we continue to confront the realities of COVID-19, serves as an inspiring example not only for your colleagues in California, but across the nation. Due to the commitment and political savvy of members like you, AACN proudly serves as the leading national voice on behalf of academic nursing and continues to advance health care and higher education through the nursing lens.”
Congratulations to Dr. Greiner for his well-deserved recognition and the AACN Advocate of the Year Award.
