Spending a year on a CSU International Program in Granada, Spain during my undergraduate studies at Humboldt State University completely changed my life! After graduating with a B.A. in Spanish Education, I began a Masters program in my hometown at Portland State University, where I focused my degree on international education. I made it a point to seek out additional international experiences and landed an internship at a university in Querétaro, Mexico before continuing on to work at the US-UK Fulbright Commission in London, England.  Come see me at one of my CHHS Group Advising Sessions to find out about all of the amazing international program offerings  you can participate in around the world!

I spent two weeks during a summer of my high school career performing and touring multiple venues in Italy with my high school band from North County San Diego. The purpose of the trip was to not only experience Italy’s rich history and culture, but to also perform with the composer, Frank Ticheli, in one of Italy’s finest catholic churches. We visited Rome, Florence, Montecatini, Venice, Tuscany, and Pompeii and this life changing experience made me enthusiastic to learn more about the study of cultures and humans. I spent the next four years at the University of California, Riverside studying Anthropology and now I am pursuing a Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology at San Diego State University. Come to one of the info sessions or email us if you have any questions on how to start your journey studying abroad!
