SDSU Department Programs

College of Extended Studies (CES)

The SDSU College of Extended Studies (CES) offers short-term study abroad programs which are available to SDSU students as well as the general public.  Many CES programs satisfy the CHHS International Requirement.


Latin American Studies Department:

The following classes, that have travel one day a week to Mexico, have been approved to fulfill the CHHS International Experience Requirement. Students must be abroad for a minimum of 9 days to fulfill the requirement. (the requirement will clear automatically on your Degree Evaluation, once a grade has been posted):

  • LATAM 320 CULT & SOCIETY OF TIJUANA (Taught in English; fulfills the CHHS International Experience only, and no GE or cultural diversity). Students do not need to fill out RAAR form. Requirement will clear once grade is posted. 
  • LATAM 550 MEX-US BORD LATAM PERSPEC  (Must be fluent in Spanish; fulfills the CHHS International Experience only, and no GE or cultural diversity). Students do not need to fill out RAAR form. Requirement will clear once grade is posted. 
The following class, that has travel one day a week to Mexico, has been approved to fulfill the CHHS International Experience Requirement for Spring 2019. Students must be abroad for a minimum of 9 days to fulfill the requirement. (This class is reviewed each semester, so if you are interested in enrolling in this class during a different semester, please check with the CHHS International Coordinator prior to registration):
  • LATAM 350 GLOBALIZATN AND AMERICAS (Taught in Englishfulfills the CHHS International Experience AND GE Explorations Area B. Does not fulfill cultural diversity). Students do not need to fill out RAAR form. Requirement will clear once grade is posted.
