Dr. Katie Heinrich, president of AAHB congratulated Reed saying, “We are delighted to count Dr. Reed as a Fellow member of the Academy because of his significant record and scientific accomplishments. We congratulate Dr. Reed on achieving an honor that few in our profession earn or receive during their careers.”  The rigorous criteria for Fellow status are designed to recognize outstanding and numerous contributions to the national and international body of knowledge in health behavior. Reed’s Fellow confirmation by the AAHB Board of Directors was unanimously endorsed.

“The personal and professional relationships I have gained from my involvement in the American Academy of Health Behavior over the last 10 years have contributed significantly to both my personal and professional growth. I am honored to receive this recognition from the Academy,” said Reed.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Reed served as the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Health and Human Services.  His research focuses on alcohol use etiology and prevention, Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) approaches to alcohol misuse, as well as issues pertaining to faculty diversity, equity, and inclusion.
