Corinne McDaniels-Davidson Selected as Presidential Research Fellow
Congratulations to Corinne McDaniels-Davidson on being selected as a 2025 Presidential Research Fellow for her exceptional research contributions in tackling cancer disparities and COVID-19 response.
McDaniels-Davidson, director of SDSU's Institute for Public Health, associate director of Public Health Practice, and associate professor in the School of Public Health, is one of six tenured researchers awarded the prestigious fellowship. Each received $25,000 to further support their research and scholarships.
“Given the remarkable scholarship of my colleagues, I am deeply humbled and honored to receive this fellowship. I am also grateful that practice-based research is valued by our campus,” McDaniels-Davidson said. “I plan to use the award funds to support student involvement in my research and to continue sharing the results of our work with the community.”
The Presidential Research Fellowship is co-sponsored by SDSU’s Division of Research and Innovation and Division of Academic Affairs. Deans from each college nominate mid-career faculty members who demonstrate exceptional scholarship and impact and are eligible for tenure promotion.
SDSU President Adela de la Torre, Interim Provost Bill Tong, Interim Vice Provost Sonja Pruitt-Lord, Vice President for Research and Innovation Hala Madanat, and CHHS Dean Amy Bonomi honored the 2024-25 fellows at an event in October.
